BURNS NIGHT
2018

Weds March 14th 12:00

TODAY, WE'LL MEET AT 12:00 BURBO BANK TO COMMEMORATE  THE LIFE OF JAMES TIMPSON (WITH A SPRING WALK TO CLAC) WHO WAS CLOSE TO MARK KEOGAN, ONE OF OUR HEADWAY SEFTON VOLUNTEERS, SO, IN MARK'S OWN WORDS...........

"James a was a young man who had a lot of medical issues as a consequence of an accident he had several years previously.

He was in the most part for the people who did not know him rude, argumentative and seen as trouble. He seemed to live on the outside of his community and had no real friends, just people who would and did take advantage of him.

But if you knew him and I was fortunate too  then he was kind, funny, thoughtful. He had his problems, but who doesn't. After he died his mother asked me to attend his funeral, the church was full, packed out with people I had never met, so maybe before his accident James was a popular guy, he had all these people who cared enough to want to say goodbye...................

I couldn't just let him be forgotten, he was so young when he died that he never got to realise his full potential.

Some stars shine so bright they don't last long and that was James

Thanks to everyone's support in helping to remember a really funny kind young man"
